Decorating Tips with Mirrors

The use of mirrors in your home décor is only as limited as your imagination! In a small sitting room or kitchen, use a mirror to bring a new sense of light and space to an area. Place one across from a window to bring inside sun and reflected trees or city lights. In a large room, mirrors can play off the space and architectural elements. For example, small mirrors placed between large windows helps to visually minimize large, empty wall spaces, a trick that goes back to English and French palace design. Mirrors can also be used to cleverly disguise blemishes on walls or pillars. When hung on a support pillar, a mirror can make the pillar effectively disappear as a design element.
